Researching 7 Generations of Your Human History

7 Generations of Your Human History

Putting You and 126 of Your Closest Ancestors In Perspective

7 generations include you and 126 of your closest ancestors (give or take a few due to pedigree collapse). Most of these relatives have left a paper trail on this Earth that can be researched.

Most of these records have yet to be discovered, scanned, or transcribed; consequently, less than 5% of recorded human history is available online. The vast majority of evidential records about your people are right under your nose: in closets, drawers, photo albums, old letters, and in the memory of your beloved elders. Libraries, governmental entities, historical books, churches, cemeteries, genealogy societies, among many other resources are also necessary go tos for thorough research.

Not So Long Ago

If you think your 4th Great Grandparents are far removed from you, think again!

7 generations represent about 150 years of your ever-evolving human history (give or take a few decades depending upon the ages your Grandmothers gave birth). 150 years is not long at all – just less than two average human lifespans.

You could spend a lifetime researching your human history.

While this thought can be both exciting and overwhelming, it’s also the reason genealogy research is eternally rewarding and fascinating. While I’m reflecting on my feelings about genealogy, I know not everyone feels exhilarated about researching the lives of thousands of people. If you want to know your human history, but have no interest in genealogy research or have become overwhelmed by the process and need assistance in organizing your research, I’m here to help you!
